Marine radio
Hi just wondering if it’s possible to get a marine radio with channel 0 on it as a receive only setting? I believe a dedicated marine handset would pull in the best signal.

Re: Marine radio
Tbh with you it makes no difference.
I spend alot of time nr Prestatyn at my partner's n any one of my VHF amateur handheld radios pick up ch0 (156.0) as good as the handsets (Icom M35) the CG/RNLI use..
Only time i notice a diff between a dedicated set and a scanner/amateur is on the airband... my Icom A3e beats anything on receive..even on the 8.33khz freqs

Re: Marine radio
A radio is a radio. None of my dedicated marine radios work any better than a cheap Baofeng, to be honest. If you have the programming cable, and the software to do a specific marine radio, then it can be fine. The cost may mean you are better with an alternative.
