j pole or slim jim?

j pole or slim jim?

i am thinking of making a j pole for the ameture band 145 mhz frequencie.....but would like to know what the difirence is beetween the j pole and the slim jim for[ rx only ] would like to get some feed back from you lads...

virtually no difference, they are basically the same thing although some folk ascribe magical properties to slimjim.
j-pole is simpler to build and imho more durable.

"An antenna with a poor ground using few radials cannot have a support mast grounded to the radial common point (at least it shouldn't if designed properly) There is no exception to this!
