414.025

Post by bigbloke »

Morning all,

curious to find a DMR repeater on 414.025. exceptionally weak here but just about able to lock it.

the received signal suggests cap + (constant bursting) but its just showing up as its colour code.
im getting it on 2 separate receivers so fairly confident its not an image.
no traffic yet.

is anyone else getting this ? if so , from where ? and how strong ?

regards

Crikey, that's well down the band, I thought it was only the MOD that played around there?

The MOD (aka USAF) have been very busy (and I mean bloody busy) out of Mildenhall and Lakenheath this week BB. F-15s have been dog-fighting each other and the range at RAF Holbeach on the marshes of the Wash have seen exponential activity, I guess these operations need support comms from the ground and other places, so when it gets busy in the skies it makes sense that it will get busy on the ground, even if it's the catering crews or spotters. I literally have two F-15s chasing each other above my roof as I type, they are that close and that low that Closecall snagged both of them.

As a bit of interest, I pick up P25 on 438MHz area whilst upon a large mound in Shropshire.

It's well worth scanning 408 to 425 + 445.500 area , there more going on than you would think.
Re SPTA. I always stop near high ground at Stonehenge to see if any thing new.
You can hear all 3 systems from there & an unid on 78 mhz to thats sounds like EDACS.

Yes they do.

They have split their spectrum.

Part of it is sub-licenced to Airwave, Part they have been clearing , but in Scotland is earmarked for
Smart Metering (O2 having won the two southern bids)

Parts of their spectrum they cant use near fylingdales either
