thanks again gmham **Got The Link**!!

Yep In reply to thelads comment yep a friend I sent the link too has also purchased the x2 sets for £108 from MELSORT carn't remember the name fully but I know It was something along them lines & apparently the coming direct from china with an estimated delivery date of early December which he also assumes that customs just like what happened with his TYT TH9800 will have a holding charge on them which was charged at around £20 on his recently new mobile radio for his shack, Feeling a little upset that I got a bargain at the total cost of £59 all in I've had to put up with a few moans & groans from him all In good faith that I'm pleasantly pleased I purchased one at the right time lol, On another note I see your In leeds so not far from me at all It would be a pleasure sometime once you take delivery of them & programmed up If you liked on the chance you fancied a few overs of course DMR I'd be more than happy also as I have a few DMR related capabilities as well as a couple of simplex DMR gateways with a friends link on the east coast I'd be more than happy to supply you with some details for accessing the links if you wanted to participate In some of our slightly entertaining conversations & of course not having to obey by certain rules as per the ham band you can be yourself without any aces & graces, Purely on the chance It's of any Interests to you.

Regards

No probs thelad,
Im finding the zastone to be pretty damn buggy as I no the codeplug In the radio is tip top, Monitoring one of my local DMR rptrs regardless whether I'm on Uk wide TG or any other I'm seeing TG1, TG2, TG3, TG13 WW English etc.....pop up on the display along with others when QSO's are taking place on the rptr. It's as if the radio Is running the experimental firmware lol, Running the up to date firmware version & CPS & the re-writing & double checking of details within the radio I'm convinced that the radio when turned on just run's In what you may call a buggy mode lol. You'll probably find the same dealings/Issues that I'm having as when you take delivery of yours when you start aplying details into the radio no doudt.

I was just looking at the all new TYT's (dual banders) that are bound for the UK early january & must say they do look very nice "here's a sneak peak" Another purchase I'll probably Invest In

Are they really calling it the 'MD-2017'?

I'm holding off on getting a VHF set until a decent and affordable dual-bander comes out, Bumfeng should have kept their powder dry until they got tier2 going, I'm now very wary of what they knock out next in case it's another lemon like the DM-5R.

Looks that way admiral, I must say It does look nice tho, Yep the bumfeng DM 5R's lol I couldn't agree more with you, Tier 1 with added up grade for Tier 2 compatibility & what a ball ache It Is looking at a recent clip..... I must say tho I think It's the only one of the Chinese cheapy brands that offer FPP (front panel programming) i.e as entering a frequency directly via the front keypad unlike TYT & other Chinese brands that are massively dependant on the CPS

TYT do FPP, the catch 22 is that you need to connect to a computer to enable FPP!

I've bought 2 of those radios last month, you can install the experimental firmware by travis goodspeed without problem.I also installed the SAAR edition firmware, and uninstalled it.
too bad they don't sell the VHF version of the radio for the same price or lower...

True, but I'm not too sure FPP is a major benefit for a DMR set as there are so many variables, great for analogue, but not so for DMR in my opinion.

A dual band DMR-Analogue set would be just the thing..spend alot of time over North Wales at my partner's place n DMR is cracking over there along with tons of analogue stuff on both bands...
Yup im fed up of carrying two radios wen out cycling or walking the dog
