HI EVERYONE

Post by TOURNEO-2.0L-16V » 28 Feb 2005, 18:59

HIYA ,

I AM NEW TO THE WORLD OF SCANNING , SO ANY ADVICE WILL BE WELCOMED !!!!!!

I AM USING AN MVT 7100 AND HAVE JUST UPGRADED MY ANTENNA TO A WATSON W-881 , IT MADE A GREAT IMROVEMENT , ALSO I AM WAITING FOR A WATSON WIDEBAND PRE AMP TO ARRIVE , WHICH IF IT PERFORMS AS THE WRITE-UP SAID IT SHOULD !! WILL GIVE MY ANTENNA ALOT MORE GAIN .

MY LOCATION IS HEMEL HEMPSTEAD IN HERTFORDSHIRE

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY FREQUENCIES THAT I COULD TRY ??

I AM HAVING TOUBLE TRYING TO FIND THE BOYS IN BLUE IN MY AREA , THE ONLY TIME I HAVE FOUND THEM WAS WHEN A UNIT WAS AT JUNC 16 ON THE M25 , WHICH IS A FAIR WAY FROM WHERE I AM , NOT HEARD A **** BIRD SINCE.

BUT I AM AWARE AFTER READING ON THE MESSAGE BOARD THAT THE COPS ARE GETTING HARD TO LISTEN TO.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND HAPPY HUNTING

REGARDS

TOURNEO

It depends if your local police have changed over to the new TETRA system, if so you will not be able to pick them up. There is many scanner book's out but as another member mentioned, your better searching on the net for any frequencies you might be after http://www.ajpotts.fsnet.co.uk/links.html Here's 1 site to get you started, use google.com and search away :)

This new TETRA system that the police are using , are the fire and ambulance services going to be using the same kit ?

Im not 100% on that, i know the fire and ambulance are still using analogue systems at the moment, im sure if they do switch over you'll soon know about it.

By The Way http://www.ajpotts.fsnet.co.uk/links.html is in some parts out of date as it was last updated in 2003. Just thought you might want to know.
