White Stick Antenna Connection?

Post by welshevo »

having owned this antenna for years i decided to actually use it... i connected this to my SDR using a SO239 too SMA....and got pretty rubbish results... local DMR weak... 70cms WEAK! so thought hmmmm ill bin it.... then noticed on another selling site it states this antenna uses "N" type connectors? now having looked im confused.... could someone tell me the correct connection :)????

The 4 notches suggest SO239 to me...

A typical N-Type doesn't have them...

There can often be multiple manufacturers of similar antennas too, with differing connection types

That is definitely a SO-239 it is very rare the put "N" Types on
Although it looks a cheep one and could have been fitted as a aftermarket one

so lets say its a N type connector and ive been using an SO239 would this cause problems in RX or TX? because the other culprit could be the coax? and not only the connectors?
