Re: tytera announce forthcoming DMR mobile
spoke to Moonraker by phone earlier this week.
The first batch of 50 production sets have landed in the UK but
customs were insistent upon reviewing a particular approvals form
which TYT had forgotten to send. Fortunately they had done the testing
and the form was sent by email and forwarded to C&E.
Chris was hoping to get them released for sale either today or Monday.
At the time of my conversation, 41 of the 50 sets were already reserved
(the 41st being mine ).
Moonraker expect the second batch to land in a weeks time.
More news as things unfold. Waiting on a call for payment now.
regards

Re: tytera announce forthcoming DMR mobile
well...its finally here!
had a 2 hour play , found a few niggles. Mainly being it is ** L O U D ** and the old puxing pop has made a comeback
but ...im liking it...
more details as i develop my own codeplug - software patches seem to be rolling out every few days right now (3.29 has cured one
menu lockup issue)
if anyone has questions, ask them below and I'll try to answer them.
off to bed now
Regards

Re: tytera announce forthcoming DMR mobile
I would advise a heavy user to defer buying one of these radios until some of the SERIOUS bugs are ironed out
e.g. 10000 contacts but only 1-1000 work in memory (you can add them into the list but
add to a channel, change to another channel, go back, contact gone!)
export channels, add new channels to zone in excel - re-import channels - zone structure still present but zone content totally
d***d up.
it comes down to bad coding in the CPS im afraid
Regards
BB
PS - having just created a 2500 line CSV file and 70 zones I think Ive good reason to be annoyed

Re: tytera announce forthcoming DMR mobile
TYT support have admitted today that the current build of CPS / firmware only reliably supports1000 channels and contacts. Theyre working on a revised setup for 3000 channels / 10000 contacts but concede that is the most they can squeeze into it.

Re: tytera announce forthcoming DMR mobile
also if you export your channel data to CSV. edit it, re-import it you can kiss goodbye to all of the "B" channels in your zone and half the "A" channels.
TYT are aware.
watching my inbox every few hours for a fix :-/

Re: tytera announce forthcoming DMR mobile
another gem!
if you're in a group call and you key the radio before the other party has finished - the 9600 converts the call to a private call
(which are frowned upon on the ham networks)
more holes than a secondhand dart board this soft/firmware !

Re: tytera announce forthcoming DMR mobile
havent updated here in a while.
The MD9600/Retevis RT-90 firmware is now up to version 5.5 and has fixed a good few bugs making this
radio very usuable - although rumours still suggest there is a design flaw on VHF DMR low power (I never use VHF DMR
so not an issue here) it was good enough to persuade me to buy a second set - very pleased.
Ham DB import is now supported via CSV (100,000 contacts)
front panel editing of the DMR ID is supported (switch between private and ham DMR IDs)
in part my reason for this post is to advise you all that Ty Weaver on his DMRTrack facebook group currently has a pinned
post asking the group members as to where next to direct his efforts (and boost donations - Fair dues - the guy has put
a LOT of work in)
When I looked in there was only about 2 votes for the MD9600/RT90 with MD2017 toolz topping the poll
If you own one of these radios and want to see Ty Toolz ported to it This is probably your one chance to influence making this happen.
time to vote? !
