now individually re-import the original channels CSV and the re-organised contacts CSV into the CPS and look at your channel data afterwards
(not the contacts list)

find the channel that had TG1 as the digital contact and you NOW have a contact of private call - RADIO-1 STEVE

oops ! you will never hear TG1 on that channel

This is because the digital contact name is not stored against a channel in the channel data CSV export file - its stored against its original position in the DIGITAL CONTACT "NO". column

And that's a coder's cluster**** !!

I suspect the same issue exists on the MD2017 / RT82

Aaaaaaagh, please tell me the DTMF mic is an option rather than standard, I'm sure it is great for pros, but I have no use for one and really don't like them, I'm forever sending loud tones to people on air because of my sausage fingers and arthritis.

Thanks for the link BK.

I hadnt seen that fan on the back before ! wont go where I was hoping to fit it
(VWT5 roof cubby hole) without a mod...have to be on the fusebox cover :-(

the only feature missing - and believe me I pestered TYT - is the ability to change your DMR ID from the front panel
or programme it on a per channel basis

hopefully Travis / Ty will hack and add this

That would be a cool feature, that's why I have two UHF 380's, one for ham stuff and one for 'other' stuff. It's too much of a pain to swap the ID over every time, and sooner or later I would forget and it could be embarrassing to say the least.

you do realise that both the travis goodspeed alternative firmware AND the Ty Weaver firmware (a derivative of Travis' work) for the MD380 both
support this natively ? They add a menu item to do it .

I've had them a couple of years BB, twas before that firmware, I've actually got used to using two now.

Hopefully there is a software option, or an internal pot to adjust the low power on this set as 25w low power is too much for my liking.

Well theres 4 power settings ...and tyt tend to hide the test menu in their CPS

I just loaded the CPS & hit <ctrl><t> and it grumbled that the USB connection wasnt available so I imagine you
can set the 4 power levels in there.

theres a guy on youtube just reviewed one of the samples ( hamradio 2.0 ) and his test confirm that the
low power settings run just under 5W

Love this guy's approach to unboxing videos "It's out of the box - shut up!" :D :D :D
