Some questions for you rooth:
What windows did you test on?
Does it have to be a serial port or will a USB lead or USB to serial adaptor work?
Does the radio have to be in tone mode? :
-Press and hold PTT and MONITOR Key (button under PTT) then switch ON the radio
-Continue to hold both buttons until the LED lights orange then release
-Press the MONITOR button the orange LED changes to RED and a beep sounds.
-Radio is now in tone setup mode !
That quote from your post in Computer software section.

I have tried so far on windows 10 64 bit and get errors or not reading all channels using a USB to serial adaptor. I can try other options as have other older laptops.

Thanks.

Hello ! I used the serial interface with XP.
You have to enter programming mode :
Press and hold PTT and MONITOR Key (button under PTT) then switch ON the radio
-Continue to hold both buttons until the LED lights orange then release

OK I did try that but it did not work, maybe because on windows 10 64 bit. I will try it on my laptop with XP.
I suppose it is best to put radio in progamming mode first before plugging the lead in? If not you don't hear the beep. :D
