Zastone ZT9908 - Contacts settings ?

Picked up a couple of these rigs, programmed them up and apart from a few niggles they work ok.

To initiate a contact you have to go through the rigs "phone book" to select the person you want to call.
After you have made a transmission the menu will time out and return you to the main screen.
Pressing the PTT results in NO CONTACTS being displayed.
You then have to re -select the contact again.

But ! When I first got these rigs it didn't do that, it remained locked to the selected contact, which was quite convenient.

So what the heck changed ?

Does it have a back up battery like a CMOS battery?

Noooo.

It's not losing settings, but I can't get it back to the config where it was automatic.

I always have to select the contact instead, like a phone.

Before I could just hit the PTT and it would auto call the programmed contact.

What does it have in the options for each contact?
If its like the Kirisun S780, then you can set it as a default from that menu, and then it will always talk to that contact when you key up from the home screen.

Can't see no options for each contact as yet.

Dunno if this is software set or via the keypad / screen ?
