The new Baofeng UV-8 cannot programme it!!

Post by Celebritypaul »

Yep!!
Another one , except this one can't be programmed from the set :-/
So...
I've Got the correct software , Im using the cable which works all my other kenwood type fitting chinese radios with no issues , but will not read the radio . The usual "Check connections@ message is all.
No info on how to actually programme it in the manual , nobody on Internet talks if them .
So...
I'm stuffed at the moment , with a nice door stopper!

Ive managed to programe just about every Chinese radio going to date , but this son of a bitch is going back on Ebay.
I would not advise anyone to buy one of these as they simply are not programmable.
though its unbelievably likable in quality. Shame! :(

Thanks for that Walter....
It is The UV-2 , looks like the same radio to me but without the LCD display.
I will give it a go tomorrow , before I give up after 8 hrs trying to programme it today.

Still dosent work ,in fact its exactly the same software as Ive already tried.
All I get is : "Fail connect radio!!"
So with no help from the supplier ,I would say that after some 10hrs attempting ,these radios Baofeng UV-8 do not seem to be in any way programmable

Without software, a dual-band device is pointless!
In my UV82 I found no software from the manufacturer.
On the RU servers I have the software found. The is strange!
On the device is at the top and bottom only UV Dual Band 400-520 MHz.
Dual band for UHF frequencies??
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Nothing surprises me much with Chinese radios these days , nothing's guaranteed to be correct as advertised.Ive had radios with scramble in them (Not!!). I had to fit a board to make it work. You don't really know what you're getting or not getting , but you won't be able to send it back , and communication is almost nil.

Well I tried to get the programmes on my colleagues computer but its windows 7 and the files wouldn't even open on it so that leaves me pretty much stuffed.

You should also order the relevant known stores.
Since there are no problems with complaints.
At 60 devices that I had bought there only 2 devices problems.
Within 3 weeks, I got new equipment ....
Radio bankers, shop 888, 409 etc.etc shop. I can recommend ..
Ask some at Shop 888
http://www.radioshop888.com/
or 409Shop
http://www.409shop.com/
for the software.
Have already helped me a lot ...

Just try this software.
http://www.luiton.com/upload/soft/LT-558UV% 20software.rar

Is this unit
http://www.luiton.com/htm/New-CE-LT-558 ... o_433.html
Maybe it's identical (the battery is the same!)

What can you say there?
I had the radios were not to be programmed with Prolific interface.
Had to take an interface with FTDI chipset.
Also allows you to load only in administrator mode, some programs ...
I also had problems with the contact times 2.5 and 3.5 mm jacks ..
Wiggle it a little time ..
Or unit is simply defective.
