i have a slight and annoying problem with my mts2000, i have programed in a bus repeater local to me
i can recieve it no problem at all on my baofeng uv5r, no ctcss set and the squelch turned down as low as possible (both sets)
the output is 453.8375 MHz
and input is 460.3375 MHz
programed in accordingly (output on the recieve channel of the mts)
the baofeng will recieve this whilst at the same time the mts sat next to it will not ?
however if i key up on the baofeng (output side) the mts will register this ?
i have set the squelch right down on the mts and it make no difference
can some one help me ?

Re: Motorola mts2000
Have you tried defeating the squelch on the MTS2000 altogether (usually done by holding in the monitor button for a second or so) and then comparing the strength of the received signal with that of the Baofeng? This will help you figure out if the issue is varying squelch sensitivity between the two radios or an issue with the RX in the MTS2000. If you find that you can't hear anything on the MTS2000 even with the squelch open then I'd guess that either the RX is deaf for some reason or you have a problem with the antenna. Antennas on ex-PMR gear have usually been pretty well beaten about and it's possible that something has broken inside.

Re: Motorola mts2000
i tried that about five miniutes ago, sadly it made no diffrence even tho i was recieving a signal on the baofeng at the same time, i will try the nagoya antenna on the mts2000 and see if it makes any difference

Re: Motorola mts2000
to a degree they align themselves but i think you will find that its just not sensitive enough, mts2k's are very old now and will only ever decrease in performance

Re: Motorola mts2000
I don't suppose anybody could upload the MTS2000 programming software "Windows version" ?
I've been trying to get hold of the programming software for ages.
Many thanks

Re: Motorola mts2000
Many thanks. I've now got my radios all programmed up. Just wondering if anybody had any mic gain/ low TX audio issues when using these radios?
