New Simple UK channels introduced earlier this year:

458.7875 MHz
458.8000 MHz
458.8125 MHz
458.8250 MHz

Do you know when these are available for usage? Not heard any traffic on them so far, but I can't find any license documents showing them, other than the review you link!

Will be very handy as the current 449 MHz channels are massively cramped

I don't think Ofcom have announced a date yet. They've published the frequencies in advance for the sole purpose of allowing us to program our radios now in case we lose the programming cables.

Getting back to PMR446, I'm sure the new channels are cleared for analogue on the 6.25kHz raster as long as the relevant IR is met. I can't remember exactly, but it's something to do with mandating the capability for CTCSS/DCS so the digital modes can be filtered out, and running no more than 0.5W or something.
