Have these OFCOM changes expanding the PMR Analog and Digital spectrum now been enacted - the original timeline was early 2016 ?

Knew Id read it somewhere - found it in the consultation docs

OFCOM
As part of our ongoing work in CEPT, Ofcom and other administrations reviewed the current use of the band. Out of this work on 3 July CEPT replaced the two current PMR 446 decisions with Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) Decision (05)15 (the “ECC Decision”)9. The purpose of the new ECC Decision was to make a number of changes to the harmonised usage conditions for analogue and digital PMR 446 radio equipment throughout Europe. The ECC Decision outlines the following recommendations10 to administrations:

• designate the band 446.0-446.2 MHz for the use of analogue PMR 446 with a channel plan based on 12.5 kHz spacing where the lowest carrier frequency is 446.00625 MHz;

• designate the band 446.1-446.2 MHz for the use of digital PMR 446 with a channel plan based on 6.25 kHz and 12.5 kHz spacing where the lowest carrier frequencies are 446,103125 MHz and 446.10625 MHz respectively;

• designate the band 446.0-446.2 MHz for the use of digital PMR 446 with a channel plan based on 6.25 kHz and 12.5 kHz spacing where the lowest carrier frequencies are 446,003125 MHz and 446.00625 MHz respectively as of 1 January 2018
so its still "no" for now

regards

With the publication of ECC Decision (15)05 Europe finally gets a Psuedo-UHF CB Radio system on 446MHz.

Previously with only 8 analogue channels the new specifications allow for 16 analogue channels and up to 32 digital channels.

It is now just up to individual governments to approve the changes in the relevant countries.

Not in uk it's not.

"We are looking at this proposal but it won't be adopted quickly if it is adopted"

Asked in UK and telephoned ERO for clarification. UK not yet, rejected proposal

Wow, that was quick.

Its such a pity that folk have to resort to plagiarism to get traffic.

Maybe the freebies were not forthcoming from Joel.

The latest word from OFCOM was that they expect to introduce the changes in Janauary 2018 so the UK may have to wait (Not that I can see anyone waiting for an offical go ahead!!!!)

The original decision was made in 2015: http://delboyonline.blogspot.co.uk/2015 ... gital.html but it's only now that we see some countries adopting the changes.

Spoken to lawyers Sintons as my info was sent ahead of time (3 days) so sure was copied unless others read my emails or have access. Other uk websites used it too, as of 12:00 DRM lodged against 3 individuals, not sites but individuals as "people" copy not websites.

09.30 UK more info was released to "accredited sources" let's see who got the info and adds it first. Clock ticks...

The latest version of the 'UK Interface Requirement' which governs the use of PMR446 radio in the UK states January 2018 as the proposed introduction date for the digital changes so I would expect the analogue changes to take place on the same date...

This document was updated following ECC Decision (15) 05 - "The harmonised frequency range 446.0-446.2 MHz, technical characteristics, exemption from individual licensing and free carriage and use of analogue and digital PMR 446 applications" as reported on my blog in 2015: http://delboyonline.blogspot.co.uk/2015 ... gital.html

So that's analogue everywhere, but digital in the top half of the band only? Unusual?

No, analogue and digital will share the allocation between 446.000 and 446.200

That's not what your table says - the digital spec goes from 446.1 to 446.2? Is that a mistake?
