446mhz ch8 south coast net monday nights

Hi all been running a 446mhz pmr net on monday nights on ch8 for the last few weeks! so far its been pretty good with up to 14 operators logging in, not caught a good lift yet but maybe tonight? most of us are around the hastings eastbourne area but one or two have popped in from as far as 40-50 miles away! the net starts around 8pm every monday and go's on till whenever? be good to hear from anyone that is interested and can here us! cheers. :)

Mondays 446mhz ch8 net was the busiest ever so far with some good dx for local portable stations operating from high ground, contacts from wales to the midlands and france were made and many more locals, in all 16 logged in and made it one of the most enjoyable evenings i have had on uhf for a long time! a big thanks to all!

I'm sure I could hear you on channel 5. Weak but perfectly readable. Scottish accent? Surrounded by hills here in south Wales so not so good for UHF unfortunately.

I hope to have the time to get to some high ground for the next net.

Yes mikel that was drew portable above eastbourne at beachy head! due to severe interference from pla's smps etc hf and even vhf have become intolerabley to noisy! cant here nothing below a s8 signal! still this is a great little band with its very small antenna's and very interesting ducting propagation, challenging but very enjoyable but most important, no noise!

A very wild and windy night accompanied the monday evening 446mhz ch8 south coast net! as expected conditions were not conducive for any decent tropo but a nice amount still logged in! thanks to all!

Monday nights 446mhz ch8 south coast net turned out a fairly quite evening! as conditions were quite impossible really for anyone trying to operate from high ground portable! so a big thanks to simon drew graham and ray for there efforts!

Cool stuff, but there is a 446 DX thread at the very top, anything over a mile is DX.

It is especially on just half a watt, those distances are really good :thumbup:

Anything over a mile is good? On 500mw Southend from South Bucks thats gotta be DX 100 miles? lol I know where your coming from though
