Never talk about that what you receive in SDR#. In UK the law is very strictly. You can go to Jail if your Pc is encrypted you dont give the Key to the Authority.

The first rule of Radio Club is (to paraphrase the film)

48 Interception and disclosure of messages

(1) A person commits an offence if, otherwise than under the authority of a designated person—

(a) he uses wireless telegraphy apparatus with intent to obtain information as to the contents, sender or addressee of a message (whether sent by means of wireless telegraphy or not) of which neither he nor a person on whose behalf he is acting is an intended recipient, or

(b) he discloses information as to the contents, sender or addressee of such a message.

Hi,

To specifically answer your question, Yes I have DMR tier1 446 radios which i use for family communications.

I also have DMR business radios, for which i posess business radio licences.
And of course, from time to time those business radios are reprogrammed for
Amateur radio use.

I find that the tier1 radios are adequate for their intended use. The AMBE codec is
Efficient but poor quality , however, whilst fringe coverage is definitely better than analogue, ultra low signal = no signal :-)

best of all With tier1 is no idiots , baby monitors , or kids playing "cops and robbers" :-)

I dont use DPMR [rival tech to DMR] myself. Although its cheaper tech in general.

What do you want to know about digital PMR ?

Regards

No, because you're the intended recipient [see 48 (1)(a)], but extra points for spelling gaol properly :)

Indeed, I also believe it's an offence to herd more than seven sheep over a single arched bridge on the third Sunday of the month.

One interesting point from an old RA document:

Q. Could I get authority to listen to emergency service transmissions, for example? I am interested and might be able to help.

A. No, authority is reserved for people acting under statutory authority. If you wish to listen in to messages, you should obtain the permission of the person sending them.

Notice how they say that you MUST NOT listen but to ask for permission to listen ... I wonder who you'd ask ;)
