Anybody going on PMR446

Post by StormShadow » 10 Jul 2015, 14:22

Hi there, I've not been on 446 in a while but I'm thinking about spending a few weekends out on my local hilltop to see if there is any activity in the way of making contacts. I'll be up on the hilltop from 7:00pm to 11:00pm on Friday and Sunday evenings in the south east area using a legal legitimate PMR set :D I've not heard any activity lately on the band so just wondering?

How high is your hilltop? What's it's location if you are willing to post it?
I'd like to try talking if it looks viable on the path profiler.
It would be even better if you had some DMR equipment. I've been wanting to try that out in a relatively long distance contact for a while now, but not had the opportunity to.
