PMR today in London

Post by vuittion » 19 Feb 2015, 13:02

I got my intek 5050 out today and to my surprise the PMR channels where buzzing not only with the usual construction workers and learner driver centres but with people talking and using it just like CB radio.

I live in SE London and this is the first time I have ever encountered PMR radio like this it was truly uncanny.

I hear PMR446 chatter a lot in South Bucks "many in the London area" which surprises me, but mind ya I'm very high up as well. I remember getting a transmission from somebody in Southend using a standard PMR446 walkie talkie but I still reckon he was using something else to reach me in South Bucks lol
