been there ...done that...

im currently in angola, DO NOT TAKE RADIO KIT TO ANY WEST AFRICAN COUNTRY without the correct paperwork (which is impossible to get anyway)... it is a big issue ...

in angola you can get a radio licence from one of the various departments of ministry with a full uk licence but ... usually involves paying someone

it takes 6 months for kit to clear customs for offshore here...if it ever does!

...a small chinese handy might be worth risking... but be careful
