Re: 446 simplex repeater up and running west London
No the repeater is working fine and is still running at 4watts into the high gain antenna. For one more day
Well there has been quite abit of activity on the "buggie" as it was called today!
Somone in edgeware Has worked into it but don't know what they where using ?
You might of caught it on good conditions at 2am but the thing with UHF if your listening to signal and you move 4inches you could lose it. So critical at the part of the band.

if someone said and keep repeating about Edgware then it was me, I key up saying "this is a simplex repeater tested from edgware can you hear me"RG8mini wrote:You might of caught it on good conditions at 2am but the thing with UHF if your listening to signal and you move 4inches you could lose it. Was you testing different channels with someone? If so i could hear that person but i couldn't hear you Jay. That was in stoneyfields park aswell (for the record)

Tee, hee, PMSL, LOL, chuckle chuckle etc!
The lovely irony of the choice of 82.5Hz CTCSS for a pirate repeater has been noted!
More seriously: I have a couple of good high spots in East Berkshire where I should just about be able to hear this. Accessing it might be more of a problem, though.

What's with irony what was noted? That the ctcss was 82.5hz and "pirate" repeater! "never" we would never condone such a thing!
Oh we're you able to access

Whats the status of the repeater now? Have you moved it yet, and am I correct in thinking it was being put on channel 6 too?

Re: 446 simplex repeater up and running west London
Repeater status:
Is currently off air until further notice due to building bits into the box, it's abit
Of a slow process as only been able to do 20mins work on it every other day,
Most of the holes in the box have drilled, a fixed mobile antenna has been attached to the top so it will not have any gain unfortunately as this was the easiest option,
I now found I running out of space for the lead acid battery to be installed,so another housing for the battery must been sourced! When I get another day free the transceiver, repeater unit, power controller will be fixed into place and then hopefully be wired up. That's most of the hard work done. Once all done it will soap tested running on the lead acid with the solar panel to see if it charges it ok.
Don't want to state a day it will be done but Iam slowly working on it.
Oh and final frez/ ctcss are not confirmed as some has stated ch6 is not great so may end up leaving it on ch7. Final details to be will be added after tests.

What!? I didn't go on the 2m band and say hello petal. I would never transmit on amateur frequencies which I'm not licensed for.francisuk22 wrote:If it was me i would set it up about spring time as where coming into the winter now but is been quite a laugh when it was setted up, this man come on and said something was repeating him and i was like and he called radiosification "Big ben" and he can call him "Pettle" hahaRG8mini wrote:Is currently off air until further notice due to building bits into the box, it's abit
