Unfortunately I can't go out tonight but will give a shout from indoors for the rare chance I pick someone up.

Nothing heard in High Wycombe. 60m ASL so not that high after all.

Thanks for the reminder, I actually had a conversation with someone on there today using my Baofeng UV5R plus and they had a base station. Distance of about 2-3 miles.

Will be on from one of the local hill's.
Plenty are talking worldwide on 27.555 usb,
Some are too far up their own @rse to admit it,
Many happen to know otherwise dx-ing test free,
Showing a complete lack of respect for the law.

A couple of guys have put a FRN link on channel 8 in Bexhill, East Sussex and screwed the frequency for DX so I will be listening on channel 9 446.106.25 no tone. I know it's a digital channel but no one is using it locally so give a shout.....

Apart from the fact that it is Digital TDMA channel 1 and not analogue channel 9, you are also excluding anyone using standard, legal analogue equipment. I don't know what PMR446 usage is like in your area but it would surely be better to listen on channel 6 or 7 if 8 is busy as that is most likely where locals with off-the-shelf PMR446 handheld equipment would be operating. You're reducing your chances of making any contacts by going out-of-band.welder wrote:A couple of guys have put a FRN link on channel 8 in Bexhill, East Sussex and screwed the frequency for DX so I will be listening on channel 9 446.106.25 no tone. Yes it is, and check the first post in the thread to see the details such as when and what channel. Or the title.CDAW wrote:I'm new to the forumn - Is this PMR net still active and if so, what channel? Is there anyone close to UB7?
