Yeah..Elecraft K2 if you're on a budget (think its only CW/SSB) or the Elecraft K3 but it ain't cheap.

You can also have a look at http://www.qrpkits.com They do a dual band and a tri-band CW kit. Also a couple of SSB kits for a few bands.

Also there is Tim Walfords kits at http://tinyurl.com/jeg He does a variety of kits for different bands at good prices, so you could always get a couple :)

Have you thought about the Softrock software defined radio kits at all? I think there is one that covers all bands!

:D mfj also do a fine range of cw/ssb transceivers that can be built from a kit
I have one for the six metre band but there are also versions available for 40/20 ssb have a look at the net

i think waters and stanton are the uk outlet for these kits

best of luck ;)

Certainly the first time I've heard an Elecraft K2 described as "budget"!
Will the next movie in the series be The Fast and The Funeral?

Elecraft are cracking bits of kit but it's cheaper to buy a big brand radio.

You could scout t`interweb for a design and get the components.I built a re-gen reciever that covers 7-21 MHz or something like.Very basic, ugly style board but great fun to build and play with, and you can add to it.But i`m fortunate enough to have a club member who,s worked in electronics all his life, who designed it and wrote the instructions.
