will do, made the centre out of some old persplex, beats buying one on ebay for a tenner :)

used some of those crimping things on the ends, left an inch & half poking through incase any adjustments need to be made which they probably will.

Ah that looks a good idea ,I just cable ties paracord on the end of mine and then sealed end of wire with that self amalgamating tape.
I'm all for making it out of stuff lying about.

I need mine compact ,so going to look into smaller Balun if poss and go straight to coax without a s.o or pl plug .

Stuffed my s.o inside a pop bottle end with lid on to keep potential water out .
