Drive on plate
Have made a drive on base which consist's of a cast iron base off a patio set (what the parasol goes into) which is ideal for a pole, which is a pole off security fencing(heras)which is fastened with rope onto a 2 wheel sack barrow that I have removed the wheel's,and it can lay flat on it's back so you can drive over it with the motor to stop any movement. The width of the hole on the base is ideal for a length of heras fencing, the stuff you get around building sites to slide into, and I have added another shorter pole at the top with the bracket's/clip's,so that the A-99 can slide inside and it is great for connecting the coax aswell, just slide the coax through the top pole, and connect onto the antenna, then slide the A-99 into the top pole.I have put a couple of heavy duty steel jubilee clip's about 1inch/25mm down from the black plastic that the tuning ring's sit on,to keep the ring's an acceptable distance away from the steel pole.It has worked very well and has cost next to nothing to make, but you could use about any homebase antenna, but the A-99 is a good fit inside the heras fencing, hope this help's someone looking for an easy to make drive on plate.
