List of kits and other useful construction stuff
Just received my first copy of QRP Quarterly mag after joining QRP Amateur Radio Club International. Great read and in the back is a nice list of kits! Thought i would post it up here along with some other useful stuff as there are quite a few here now getting into construction!
Of course, this would be great as a post in a nice new homebrew and construction section
http://www.elecraft.com - High end kits but some really good stuff. Home of the K3, which i WILL own one day!
http://www.genesisradio.com.au - Some nice looking SDR kits with no SMT!
http://www.glowbugkits.com/ - single valve 40m transceiver
http://www.qrpkits.com/ - Selection of SSB kits here, along with some CW, receivers, tuners and other accessories
http://www.qrpme.com/ - Kits in tuna tins! Receivers, transmitters, plus some test equipment
http://www.nikkemedia.fi/juma/ - CW and SSB kits plus keyer and linear amp kits
http://www.kangaus.com/products_by_type.htm - all sorts here, RX, TX, converters
http://kd1jv.qrpradio.com/ - ATS-4 kit coming soon, 5 band CW/RTTY/PSK that fits in your pocket, lots of SMT!
http://www.ohr.com/ - more CW kits
http://www.qrolle.se/ - very nice looking SSB and CW kit
http://www.qrpproject.de/UK/indexuk.html - loads of stuff here, great site, also resells some kits from the US
http://www.smallwonderlabs.com/ - home of the Rockmite and warbler, tiny CW and PSK kits

Cheers for that! There seems to be a time limit on editing posts, not sure how long but pretty short.

Re: List of kits and other useful construction stuff
I recently came across this site:
http://www.sdr-kits.net/index.html
They concentrate on bits and pieces for SDR's, but one kit they do is an Si570-based synthesizer which can be used as a sig gen or as a local osc for your homebrew projects. Worth a look.

Two interesting kits not previously listed.
20 and 40M QRP SSB transceiver kit with DDS VFO option, from Spain - http://ea3gcy.blogspot.com.es
Peaberry SDR V2 Kit, multiband SDR transceiver. Most options cover 4 bands, including 60M option - http://ae9rb.com/

Re: List of kits and other useful construction stuff
I have to fully agree with you James on your suggestion of a homebrew section, i for one would fully support the idea!
Many years ago, as a young lad and budding construction engineer, i remember a series of projects in a magazine called Practical Wireless called 'Take Twenty' This was a series of construction projects that was based on the principle of, take twenty components that cost less then 20 Shillings (yes it was that long ago) Each monthly project gave beginners the chance of building a simple but useful project, in a step by step tutorial.
In addition, a directory of businesses that we can buy quality bits from at a budget price, and i dont mean the odd link for an ebay item.

Well if there is enough interest, just how could we go about this?

If it needs a PCB laying out, I don't mind joining in as that's my day job .
