And this from Australia.......

Hello Nord ? many thanks for the ?SWL? report, Hi.

Yes. I was on 20 metres RTTY last evening (our time) around the time your email indicated, and I guess you heard me while I was calling, or talking to, UT2IU, Alex.

Conditions here were not very good and, although we completed a valid QSO, signals between both Alex and myself were not strong.

I am surprised that I was, in any way, readable in the UK, as it has been a very long time since I have been able to make a short path QSO with England in that time frame. Maybe things are starting to improve, Hi.

I was using a Kenwood TS480-HX, 120W, into a 9 element log periodic at about 14 metres high. Age is 64, I am retired, so get to play a lot of radio (well, I would if band conditions would improve) and also play a bit of golf. Life is good, Hi.

Thanks for taking the trouble to let me know you heard my signal, and good listening.

Regards.

I used to send and receive loads of QSL cards in my listening days, obviously a lot easier with email now with so many people using it, I was a member of the ISWL with membership number of GW-20775 and cards could be sent via their them through the RSGB, I was still receiving cards 5 years after I sent some, the return rate however wasnt great and I suppose it was around 50% only.
