Over the last few days I've been swapping my Sony with the Tecsun and I can honestly say the Sony is far more sensitive than the Tecsun on all frequencies.. the only problem I'm getting with the Sony is the dials..they seem a bit stiff sometimes and seem a bit erratic when rotating up and down. Is there anything I could spray on them?.

Don't spray anything on them, not yet anyway. If the set does not get much use, the contacts will have oxidised due to lack of use. Plenty of use should clear them. If not (and you are confident about taking the set apart) use Super Servisol contact cleaner aerosol. Use only a very small amount and dont let it get anywhere except where you need it to go. DON'T use WD40!
