Traditionally right now !! Sundays mornings have always been known to be fairly busy with sw uk pirates , try around 6.6mhz am ? plenty info on the net if you search google on the subject.

Re: pirate radio
Way back (1970's) there was a pirate station broadcasting on the normal FM band at around 88 MHz around Chester. The dozy buggers actually broadcast their address and phone number, so folk could send in requests and reception reports. They got shut down pretty quickly. Not sure how the authorities latched onto their QTH

48 mb (6200 - 6400 kHz), 75 mb (3900 - 3950 kHz) and on 186 mb (1600 - 1700 kHz).
75mb is busy this time of year, especially in the evenings at the weekend. Dutch pirates.
Search for 'Iann's Pirate Chat', you can put a request in.

Re: pirate radio
It depends on what you mean by 'Pirates', I hear pirates on 80m and 70cm DMR every day of the week. If you want HF pirates then you can listen to the EC morons and criminals every day.

Re: pirate radio
Friday nights are usually good , that's when you hear the stations tuning and getting ready for the weekend.Laidbackelevenmeters wrote:when is the best time and hour to log pirate radio stations
Weekend mornings seems to be popular with log entries, my logs entries show loads of entries late afternoon right up to midnight.
I usually listen around 6000-6550 kHz 6900-6970 kHz 1395-1700 kHz
Happy listening.
Regards
Alan
