Antennas at the SAS HQ.
I wasn't sure where to put this , please move if not in the right place or delete if already been done.
I was looking at google maps and found their barracks.
I noticed the rather large antennas on the premises.
is the top pic a periodic? , the bottom pic an elephant cage antenna.

Re: Antennas at the SAS HQ.
Yes it is full sized HF LP normally 5 to 30 but that one may be 3 to 30 and the other is most probably a "bird cage". They had a couple of HF monopoles a few years back I don't know if on test or just for training.
A blurry shot of the LP from the only road near by you could go down!
Google SV used to show the perimeter fence and entrance if you could not be bothered to drive to Credenhill
There is a website "secret bases" that has loads of SV and aerial shots of most of the interesting sights around the UK.

Re: Antennas at the SAS HQ.
Thanks Steve..
I was looking for a pic of it, trying to peak between trees on that bit of road near to it on street view but too far away.
With all the fuss over them showing the entrance, i'd of thought they would take more off than they have.
Credenhill has changed a bit over the years.
i'll give that "Secret Bases" a look

They moved to RAF Hereford, and also known as RAF Credenhill now.

You'd be looking at a 20 year stretch if this was China.

Re: Antennas at the SAS HQ.
I'd be a bit worried if the SAS set up their headquarters in China.
