Bite their hand off at £100.

Yes, they are very good, I have the 3000 and the 3000a, the 3000 has an annoying 'click'click' frequency control, the 3000a has a more traditional VFO feel to its controller.

They were designed as a serious 50mhz-1.2ghz set, but they cover 0-2ghz, 0-30mhz is pretty good too. Obviously they're all mode with true SSB offsets, so Shannon Volmet on 5.505 USB will read 5.505 on the readout.

Just have a quick play with it before you buy if you can, the VFO encoders can go bad, turn it slow and fast up and down and make sure there's no frequency misses or skipping.

If it's a good one and you don't get on with it then I'll pop round and give you £100 for it as my encoder has gone bad and they're like hens teeth.

Did you buy it Mr George? Fed up with it yet? Don't forget I'll give you what you paid for it or straight swap it for a boxed mint 3500XLT :D
