I want to start SWL and bought this receiver.
How good it is and what antenna i need just for SWL on 40m band?

A good little receiver.I've had one for years with no probs.I generally use 60 ft of wire strung over the roof of the house connected to a little ATU and 40m usually booms in.Have a look at the back top Right corner and see if there's a sticker with the letter 'B' on it.If so you have a modified version of the 'A' model and reckoned to be slightly better.Have a look here http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/2108 and also here. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/RAD ...
