I have been advised to purchase PLT devices by Virgin media as the wireless just does not have the range for our house, thay have advised using netgear as these have no interference issues ?? ( the same engineer to first told me my 8500 receiver was the reason for the poor wireless signal,,,,,,)
So has anyone managed to use any PLT adapters without QRM ? I don't have the budget to run CAT 5 around the house and the wife is not to concerned over my potental interference on the receivers. Do the more expensives units have less of an issue? Are there filters available to stop the qrm on my own devices if I need to go down that route?

Why not try wifi range extenders operating in the 2.4 GHz band?

Avoid PLT at all costs even the more expensive one's will give you noise .I purchased a t p link wi -fi extender but never used it due to it being a nightmare to set up but was then told to buy an access point as i have a cat5 cable up the stairs coming from my router .Still no further on and a bit hacked off as my old hub 4 gave good wi-fi round the house but the new 5 model is crap .

How much are the PLT devices? You can pick up 300m of CAT5 for ~£30...

Cat5 would be my preferred option, but the wife wants no cables on view, and in a flat roofed bungalow and hard wood flooring my options are limited, without a lot of cutting into walls and making good. The extender should do it
