Iranian radar

Post by Alan137 »

Anyone hear this Rader noise as what has been reported in the link below.

I have had a listen and thankfully heard nothing.

http://www.dxcoffee.com/eng/2014/03/26/ ... -10m-band/

There are some links on the story that lead to some interesting reads, I recommend the "IARU Monitoring System" link.

aye its been plaguing 10m for ages, not heard it much recently as every time I turn on the band is flat. Seems odd they would choose the 10m band since the thing goes daft with propagation and if they are using it to search for small stealthy drones, I dont think they stand a chance of finding them.
Last summer it was really bad with me in Scotland and heard hams all over EU complain about it, signal was really strong on some days.

ITU have lodged a letter of complaint but am sure the Iranians will just ignore it.

Hear it almost daily anywhere between 25 and 30MHz depending on the MUF. It's easy to spot using an SDR, 100kHz ish wide bands that alternate frequency by a few hundred kHz. As I'm typing it's centred on 28.605Mhz at S7.
my friend grafter, seems like you are using a very offensive tone in the reply.
