Wellbrook Loop Manual.

Post by M1ZXZ »

Hello to all in this group,

I'me just about to order myself the Wellbrook Loop antenna and was wandering about methods of mounting it to my rotator.

I've read that some form of non magnetic strut should be used to add strength, but I can't seem to find any information on physically mounting the loop to a rotator and what "ideal materials" are required.

Anybody have any ideas about this or possibly have a PDF or a scan of the installation manual that may tell me what I need to know.

My interest for this loop is general SW Listening, HF Aero, HF Marine Bands.

Regards Paul.

It's easy. Just cable tie a bamboo cane vertically across the loop. Thants what I did to stop it wobbling, been fine for the last three years...
Just allow a bit of cane to over-lap down the main support tube for strength.

Hi James,

Thanks for the response,

Well, that surely is a simple and cheap solution.

I was thinking of some sort of plumbing type tubing with some kind of fixing brackets, but looking at your photo seems to be a simplistic way of going about it.

Does the official user manual happen to mention alternative arrangements ?

Thanks..

I used some 40mm waste pipe with suitable mountings top and bottom. The bottom end of the pipe goes in the rotator.
