40Ms

Post by acl777 »

I've recently been monitoring 40M and noticed it seems very quite. What are other people receiving on 40M? I'm getting abit of morse in the evenings but that is about it.

There has been quite a bit of solar activity knocking the heck out of HF bands so I do not think your alone with this one. Take a peek at http://spaceweather.com and it will show you when the Sun is not playing ball with us and also when it is.
Do not believe everything that is in black and white.

Hi,

When you say quiet you mean lack of activity not lack of QRN etc?

40m has been rocking PM and early AM - the US, Canada and the likes early morning from about 5am onwards till gone sunrise and then early evening around to Asia for Japan and VK and ZL.

Loads of euros during the early and later parts of the day and a gap between about ~10am and ~3pm when it is mostly inter UK. Not noticed low activity and I am on there most days.

Well I was monitoring between 21.00 hrs and 23.00 hrs for the last three nights and heard nothing apart from abit of morse. I will have to look at other times as suggested.

BTW: thanks for the link.
