I've been trying to get Kyodo news for a while.
It seems to be a bit hit and miss, often fading completely.
This is the most recent and fairly readable copy of NX warnings and Sumo results, received this morning on 16971 at 1130-1145.

nice ecode........

Kyodo Ive found can be pretty strong on 17430, in afternoons, but this is usually in the summer months.

Also can be good on 12745.......the problem is that because they are tx'ing in rpm60, it takes sooo long for it to tx compared to a normal 120rpm station ,that its more subject to fading etc........

You should try New Orleans on 17145 in the afternoons around lunchtime, its potentially very good at times. The Ir satelite Img at 14.00 GMT, is a good catch.

Also try taipei on 18560 at 13.20, as they tx an interesting IR image also, but this station is more difficult.

Thanks for the tips MC, its good fun chasing after these weaker signals and very pleasing when you get a decent decode.

Now thats not a bad decode!
Heres mine on 12750 from Sunday mid afternoon (1503) transmission.
Sony ICF-SW7600GR, G5RV jr slung roughly in the garden about 10 ft above ground level.

Crap loads of noise due to position of antenna and feed probably being not upto much.
Not bad though for a mid afternoon decode.

Notice the low pressure system and swirl to the right middle of the picture, and the cloud thats above it. I do believe thats whats being causing our particularly crappy weather the past few days!

hey John....how-ya doing?. I think you were still SS, last time we spoke.

Yeah Sydney on 4416 can be decent at nights. A lot of those more obscure stations come back on from July to November dont they. Resolute on 7710 etc.......
Chile may be good as well on 17145 in the summer time nights hopefully........
i think I heard Australia the other day on 15615, then. It becomes splattered with a broadcast station after 13.00 I think.
There Is a strong stang signal been polluting Wiluna on 10555 recently as well.

I havent been doing much fax recently.........Will get back into it eventually.

PS What time did Sydney start.......Was if sometime after 23.00 John..?

nice decode there chris:)

I suspect that you have used the wrong IOC though, it is very elongated image.
All fax stations now use an IOC of 576, so make sure its on 576.

I suspect you mistakenly used 267 or 288.....
Also make sure that you set it to 120 LPM as well as IOC 576.
If you are receiving Kyodo however, make sure its LPM 60, and IOC 576.

I have been absent from fax for a while now.........I wonder If Kyodo is making the trip now on 17430 in the afternoons.?
