I have just read in the search and rescue framework for the UK that 121.5mhz is going to be a Cospas-Sarsat beacon distress frequency which will become a beacon homing-only frequency on 1 February 2009. AM.
So does this mean that It will not be used for maday calls? Even tho I heard normal voice on the frequency about a search and rescue incident. So it must still be used as normal?
Does anyone have any info on this?
Also what other frequencies are used for aircraft search and rescue / distress?
121.5mhz to be a beacon homing-only frequency?

121.5 will stay the same as before, but with no SATELLITE monitoring... the sats will only monitor the 406 MHz version.
