RADIO/SCANNER/ANTENNA WHATS BEST SET UP FOR AIR BAND

Help needed still looking into buying a new set up for civil/military air bands a radio or scanner antenna ect. i live quite near to usf lakenheath/usf mildenhall and raf marham , what you think i will need ???

IC-R-8600 on low budget, if higher R9500 should be fine.
