Digital noise on Air Band

Post by StormShadow »

Maybe there are digital airband transceivers out there now I don't know but I can only assume so from the digital noise I've heard on air band frequencies. Mind you I was very surprised the other day when scanning through air band and heard a London bus driver on 122 MHz trunked system I was thinking they shouldn't be there. Maybe it was bad harmonics or something, it was interesting though.

we experimented with digital departure clearance many years ago at Gatwick, but there were not many takers so abandoned it. Maybe there is a revival.
