Thought I would share this little gem of aviation history.
You may be unaware that there is currently available from the BBC World Service website a fascinating documentary on trans atlantic flight with snippets of archival and historical recordings mixed in with the report.
The documentary focuses on Shannon Oceanic Control sited in BallyGreen with interviews from airport personnel recollecting colourful accounts from the history of the airport.
Well worth a listen.

Very interesting documentary. I've been interested in transatlantic air traffic since I first heard it on HF. I went to Ballygirreen and had a look at the antennas while I was in Ireland on holiday.
