Post by tesco1 »

Anyone know what the quality of a Sharmans Multi Band Antenna is like in comparison to a Discone. :|

This is AKA the SE1500 (called different things by different suppliers)

What is your main area of listening interest?

Then the SE1500 then I'd say. The base double discone is quite good too but is obtrusive and prone to wind damage.

If you want a really good airband antenna then go for a Diamond D777

Thanks rocket, by the way have you heard of a Eurostick DX 25-2000Hz Base scanner Antenna, any reports? will keep the SE1500 in mind, also need decent cable for 25 metres, somebody mentioned Westlfex 103.

Eurostick is OK, but not as good as the SE1500 performance wise and construction quality isn't as good either.

Westflex is perhaps a bit overkill, condider RG8X Mini 8 as it should be OK for that length (also cheaper)
