I think most of the punters in the stadium missed it too. He flew behind the east stand apparently, he was supposed to go right over the top. Think the pilot got confused, lol.

Cheers to you both! I wasn't aware the local Taggart had a helicopter? Or did we borrow that from a neighbouring force?

Lothian & Borders don't have a chopper but we borrow Glasgows occasionally. Strange about the re-routing. There was no police helicopter there. Not unless he came in at 20ft and didn't show on radar.

Thanks Glamdring! I did think our local taggart didn't have one! Does seem strange that it wouldn't show up,and also communicate radio wise with the ATC.

There definitely wasn't one there. Not even the rozzers are stupid enough to infringe CAS without a clearance. Maybe the plan was to have him there but he was on more important duty. Meh, who cares at the end of the day ;)

Is there any way to get Mil air activity on Radarbox or Flightradar? I can't offer signals myself as at my home I am wiped out by a local radio transmitter, can't even get local taxis.

If your like me and miss all the Mil action due to working in the day time then 2night may be a good night to listen.
Exercise Red Diamond in the North East England is active from today, a lot of the above freqs and TADS have been very active since 13:30, according to the NOTAM it should be running until 20:45 2night.

I can confirm it has been very active all afternoon here, they are booming in loud and clear.

Didnt catch callsign, but a short while ago, said he was routing to the south and then will route back up to the north and will contact London Mil again and ask for a discreete freq.
