i find it brilliant at times..hf not good at the moment but that can't be helped..i'm using HDSDR, SDRSharp, and SDRConsole (V2) all of them bring different responses when tuned..mores the pity i can't use it for my Ham radio to transmit lol

Got to agree with Gemini4. I rarely use it on vhf/uhf, i have got enough scanners to cover that, I really wanted it for hf listening.
I have tried all the software that Gemini4 mentions and I seem to have settled on HDSDR, its not necessarily the best one but it suites me for what I want.
The new version of SDR# will actually allow it to scan but I have not got round to getting that bit working yet.
I run it through the wifes old dual core laptop and it handles it with no problems, although I do find the latest version of SDR# to be a bit laggy on it.
All in all, I could not be happier with it.

cant find any posts regarding tetra decoding software
just wonderd if any one knows if you can get any and if not can you decode dmr and all the other digital modes?
as im guessing that even some contractors might be going onto digital!
but I still receive a lot on the 180 MHz band

Have a look at this site:
http://tetra.osmocom.org/trac/
KEY : = channel/stud | ~ = CTCSS/DCS | ^ = transmitter site | ¯ = overhead | * = trunked

You must install the v1.4 plugin package. Then you can do frequency and memory channel scans.

Cool I did not even know about a plugin site. :D

Chrome tries to stop the download saying it's malicious, I could not get it to pick up anything in frequency scan mode.

i set my plugins up on sdr sharp on my funcube dongle pro plus but the scanning wasn't as good as i expected like when you scan on a scanner but for dmr decoding its ideal and does the job perfect :) , i've also got the original funcube dongle that covers the tetra frequency band but not had anything positive with the tetra band as yet ?
