Hi Guys Im new here,
Re the Mk5 cobra debate I used to build them with John he was a good guy (RIP) & sold me many kits (@ trade price) to do these radios & others makes most of the MK5s I built had a special alley Knob on, witch I had made just for this mod with both red & green readouts also all mine had a in built Fet Low Noise Preamp of my own design to help the reciver with the broad banding of the radio :geek: yes I know every one on CB in the 80s & 90s knew John but I was the only other engineer to do the MK5s
John sold 2 kits elsewhere that came back for him to complete & that is the truth of the Mk5 Cobra, I have one mk3 15 band radio based on the 010 radio left wish I had kept a MK5 for my self, If any of yo uneed one servicing then give me a shout,
I did build a mk5 chassis into a ham Jumbo I called it the INTERNATINAL 5000 ! if any one has seen this of late I woul love to know where it is I sold to a guy in 1996 from Tonbridge Kent it had 100w ouput spech prossesor & built preamp & 20A PSU,

I hope some ons can shead some light on the 5000
