ranger ar-3500
had a 3300 but just got a ar3500 the 100w jobbie in black
tbh i aint impressed by it and dont think she a keeper
its a nice example and works fine just i dont know what to think of it
drifts like a 3900 and does have agc overload and for mobile use the controls are bit close
relay wanted to fall in love with her but its not love at first sight.
ssb audio a bit raspy when flat out sounds like im running a cheap amp but i aint checked the final bias and may be out
any 1 got or used 1? what you think of them

Re: ranger ar-3500
I am not a massive fan of Ranger stuff myself. Except perhaps the early 3900's because they are basically a clone of the PB-010

I had one and never liked it either (this was in the late 90's) needless to say it didn't stay long!

Re: ranger ar-3500
I've seen a few come up in Spain , but they don't interest me . As you say , they are nothing to do with "Ranger" . If it did have the EPT36001XX in it then I would probably have bought one .

Re: ranger ar-3500
I've never liked the look of these and I've never owned one. The one time I used one I wasn't impressed, and that was when I went to try one out with a view to purchasing it. Suffice to say I left with my money still in my pocket. Must have been very early 90's. I ended up buying a Ranger 2950 which, at the time, I found to be a much better radio.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!
Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

Great radios in my honest opinion. I own the AR3300 and AR3500. Love the ease of the buttons to change frequency and the lovely clear receive on SSB.
