Ss7900 ssb mic gain

Hi guys Is there an internal adjustment or software adjustment to raise ssb mic gain on my ss7900.The ssb audio is quite low it's only peaking about 8w on voice even with a Cobra high gear power mic fitted and 30w on a whistle.The setting for mic gain is at 36 max

Im using a hp1000 meter .Ihave 11 other ssb radios and only this one gives low audio output on ssb so it isnt the meters.Even with a continuous tone its just haa low output

Sounds ALC is not set right, but I wouldn't touch it without scope and dual tone generator.
And I wouldn't trust readings from that italian box.

I have a oscilloscope and sig gen at work but I don't know anything about these radios .I usualy buy repair and rebuild older gear.. I need to get hold of a service manual then to set this thing up

Grab AT5555N schematic and adjust it. I would check PA bias too, who knows how it is set.

I had this exact same issue on my Anytone 5555N (exact same radio). It was the ALC which was set too low. After careful adjustment the SSB power was back to factory spec. Also on mine there was no AM carrier power. The preset for that was actually turned completely down. All very bizarre. After the adjustments the TX power was as follows.

AM 12W
FM 30W
SSB 30W peak

We're is the alc adjustment on the PCB I didn't see anything marked as alc..They must come pre screwdrivered lol.

Fun fact.
On the 10m ham band, the ALC reverse feedback voltage limits the output a LOT more than on the 11m band.
A two tone test using an HP service monitor, the most the rig will do on 10 is 18 watts. On 11 it will easily put out 55w.
this can be demonstrated using the FM mode that completely bypasses any pf the ALC circuit. 55w out pretty much anywhere.
I'm not really interested in using it on CB, except to maybe monitor channel 19 when traveling. Having more output on 10m is way more important to me.
Any thoughts?

Something not right with your radio.

On SSB and mic gain set at 30, 2 tone output with Hsnsen FS-500H pep meter shows almost the same power output from 25.6-30.1Mhz. Yes, there's a small drop at the top end of 10m but we're talking 2-3 watts max.
25.6 = 45 watts
30.10 = 42 watts
