Quite possibly the original hole would have needed to be enlarged slightly to incorporate the switch. Still a neater job than a stinking great hole drilled in the back though.cb4ever104 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2018, 13:02Yeah . The mk2 chassis has the 2 "oblong" shaped heat sink holes on the back . So the guy has used the RHS one for the switch without drilling a hole . Much better that way .

Back then in the mid 80s I used to put the beep there too. I had little miniature toggle switches that fitted perfectly in those holes.

Bought an Audioline 341 from Studley carboot sale in Redditch while I was up that way. No case screws (will test when I can be bothered but I don't hold much hope it'll work properly) and a bit scruffy, but for £3...

A close to mint and boxed Commtron CXX. Everything including the 27/81 sticker!
Alright, it was a bleed over merchant back in the day, but there's something about them and I've been after a boxed example for ages.

I'll not say lucky or fortunate, as I know these are Marmite radios. This example came up for sale on "that auction site" and I put a bid in and won it. It's in exceptional condition. One for my small collection.

The receive audio always sounds a bit muffled on them compared to both the usual Cybernet and even the Uniden-boarded radios.
I've got 2 and thought the first one (mounted in the car) just had a damp speaker or something when it was first turned on after being in a garage for years. Then my boxed one arrived a few months ago and was the same. There's a distinct lack of high frequency treble, although some may prefer it to be less harsh on the ears.

Yes, I did notice that when testing but I'm almost deaf in one ear and the other has hf loss, so I just put it down to my crap hearing. The Collector wrote: ↑12 Jun 2018, 16:49 The receive audio always sounds a bit muffled on them compared to both the usual Cybernet and even the Uniden-boarded radios.
