What CB/11m Radio Stuff did you buy today? (2020)

I don't get the idea of buying more than one radio? What's the deal?
Free desk space is hard to come by, and tons of other gadgets are also perfectly suitable for collecting dust.
One FT-817ND checks all boxes for me, for HAM bands, CB, PMR, license-free, KDR, ...
It's not cheap radio, but it effectively renders other, albeit vintage equipment obsolete, and really tidies up the place.

Yey, finally got myself a stealth-fronted Stalker ST-9DX. Been after one for ages but they always went for a lot of money. Got it for £57 and it completes my little 27/81-stamped illegal radio area.

If anyone's got a Stalker mic', especially one with the red wheel on the side they'd let go then let me know.
Annoyingly, I bought one a few years back to vinyl-wrap in oak-effect, just for something to do and then I resold it. It looked pretty good too.

Was your rig in it's box Dave?

Sadly not mate. A box would be nice if anyone's got one though. I'm already looking for a mic' too. I recall a bracket for one for sale on here too recently, but that was sold.

There's been a glut of Stalkers on ebay at the moment and the Cobra sales have dropped off.
The Stalkers aren't attracting high prices - £57/£47/£63 for the last 3 stealth-fronted ones. It's perhaps because it's getting close to Christmas???

I'm fast running out of radios I need, so I may need to start another collecting hobby. Maybe page 3 girl or Pirelli calendars

I don't use radios, although I have got a Petrusses Excalibur wired up if I wanted to, so that makes me even sadder (there's nobody on around here anyway).

There's also plenty of room in my loft-shack for at least 30 more radios on the one side, so there's no worry about lack of space. There's also more shelf-space at leg-level too as the 6ft x 8ft "room" is almost completely filled with shelving from floor to ceiling and also has a worktop

I am sure that you are aware that the subject of hoarding or collecting cb radio's has been covered many times.
No matter what people say or think I doubt it will change anything in the way of how people spend their money..
Everyone has an idea of what is the right amount of things to own.

Don't you worry about that side of things. I'm never selling them and when I snuff it, my missus will have the things either straight on ebay, or in a skip before my body's even cold

I quite agree with what you are saying as I sell video games and have ended up with a lot of the same title.
I would think that the prices that rigs are going for now it would be possible to either break even or make a profit on them as my pile up has been on and off from 1997

it has a couple of issues Dave, S meter stuck and internal speaker not working but easy fixes, ok for £70 delivered i suppose :edit, oh and no modulation on AM, had one like this before regulator or something?
