Does Anyone Have Any Info On These?

Post by astradyne »

Picked this up on eBay very cheap on a best offer. It's an odd looking dummy load rated at 500W max. It appears to work perfectly well. I tested it using both the built in SWR meter on my 6900N and my external meter. Both showed zero SWR with the radio plugged into the TX socket. Does anyone have any idea as to why there's a second "test" socket?

the test socket will be a sniffer port, 30dB down or so for connecting a counter, scope etc.

It's fixed with rivets and I don't want to risk damaging it as it seems to work perfectly.

It was sold as untested at £20 BIN or best offer, so a bit of a risk buy. But I'm more than happy with the £15 I paid for it. :D
