I can honestly say that my 5890EU was nothing like your description Simon. It was cheerful and happy, of decent quality and way less noisier than my Grant II ever was.

Bear in mind, not everyone found the Grant II to be noisy so perhaps it is the case with the Albrecht. It certainly was for me.
